Course Description
Interpreting in physical conditioning, weightlifting, and personal training environments requires a firm grasp of biomechanics, exercise science, and rapid visual-spatial cueing. In this hands-on workshop, weightlifting expert Ryan guides interpreters through gym floor mechanics, equipment safety, and movement analysis.
Participants will explore key athletic terminology—including muscle groups, training splits, resistance mechanics, and form cues—while learning conceptually accurate ASL translations. The workshop addresses sightline management around heavy machinery, pacing signs to match physical movement counts, and strategies for interpreting 1-on-1 coaching sessions safely and effectively.
